Temperatures on spacewalks could range from minus 250 degrees Fahrenheit to 250 degrees Fahrenheit in direct sunlight. The suits maintain body pressure to provide astronauts with water to drink and oxygen to breathe. The pressure garment and the life support system are the two primary components of a spacewalk spacesuit. The pressure garment is the part of the spacesuit that covers the body while still allowing movement.
